Pretty much obsessed. I love Madewell. I wish I could wear nothing but Madewell, all the time. It's pretty much how I want my style to be. Maybe with a few more glam elements thrown in. So,  J.Crew, basically.  Only maybe a little edgier. Yeah. I totally want to be Madewell-J.Crew-Edgy.

falling for you

This week has been pretty busy. The holiday season is approaching and already the people around me are gearing up. I'm pretty sure I know what I am buying for everyone on my Christmas list this year, but I haven't started the actual shopping. I should probably get on that, huh? Maybe after DISNEY WORLD. Did I mention at all that I am going to DISNEY WORLD next week?

These pictures are actually from Monday. Told you this week has been hectic. I've had time to snap some pictures, but that's about it. Plus, as all you other bloggers know, this whole getting dark early thing really cramps my style. Plus, there's no good light in my backyard this time of year. And I don't have the time nor the confidence to wander around with my tripod.

Another vey exciting thing that just happened today...I got a "new" job! Technically it is the job I have been doing for the past four and a half months, but they finally made it official. I'm so happy! It comes with a nice pay raise too, so I can start padding up my savings account, and maybe have a little left over for new purchases. ;)

Today was definitely an awesome Friday. Not only did I get a new job, but I finally managed to snag the Jeffrey Campbell boots I have been pining over for weeks. I was just sitting there at work, looking at my boots on Shopbop every so often and sighing, since they didn't have my size. Then, suddenly, there they were! In my size! You better believe I grabbed my credit card and snagged those. According to the site they were the last pair too! Well actually, I called and texted my Mom like a psychopath because they're a Christmas present and she was going to buy them. But she can just pay me back. Or Santa can pay me back, whatever.

My beloved booties! I am already mentally creating outfits around these beauties in my head. Just have to wait til Christmas!

What's on the top of your wish lists this year?

fossil holiday

Yesterday I got a catalog for Fossil in the mail. I don't think I've ever seen a Fossil catalog before, and as far as I know they only make watches (which are super cute) and purses (which are not really my style). Imagine my surpise when I opened this catalog and wanted every. Single. Thing.

The dresses!

The shoes!

And yes, the watches and bags!

I didn't even know Fossil made such super cute clothing and shoes. Everything is totally reasonably priced as well. Here are a few of my very favorite items that may definitely need to be added to my wardrobe:

There are so many more cute things and the catalog is amazing. I highly suggest you guys check it out!

random inspiration + fall wishlish

So I've made it past the two week mark for No Shop September and we're cruising through to week three. I can't believe how fast this month is flying by. It's been so jam packed I honestly haven't had time to shop. Well I mean, I have had time to browse online and daydream about everything I plan on buying come October. The good thing about this shopping hiatus is that I have really taken the time to think about every item I see that I like and would otherwise have just impulsively bought. I'm sure we've all heard the old "make sure you can think of at least three outfits it goes with before you buy it" rule of shopping thumb, but how often have we really followed it? I've been more conscious of that rule when I've seen something I like these past few weeks, and I can safely say the following items will go with much more than three items in my closet, so they're on the top of my list for October:

1. Calvin Klein Carly Heel - $98: I have been forever searching for a pair of perfect black pumps. I think these might fit the bill. I tried on this season's version (the Scarlet) and they fit like a dream and were sooo comfy. So I'll either save a few dollars and get these, or splurge for this season's version. I figure you gotta have a comfy black pump, right?

2. Archie Grand Notebook via J.Crew - $10: An adorable notebook perfect for writing down blog ideas or notes on short stories! For ten bucks this is a must.

3. Vince Camuto Canasta Heel - $129: I LOVE these shoes! They're pricey, but I think if I save my money they'll be worth it. They'd go with so much all through fall and winter, and even next spring. Plus they have a nice, sturdy looking heel which I love.

4. Old Navy Tweed Skirt - $26.50: The price is right on this on-trend skirt. Easily dressed up or down, this will go with pretty much everything in my wardrobe. I can't wait to wear it with colored tights, ankle boots, and a cozy sweater.

5. American Eagle Boyfriend Tank - $15.50: American Eagle makes my favorite basic tanks. They're fitted with just the right amount of stretch. Plus they're nice and long and never change shape in the wash. I'm thinking I need a navy one and the plum colored one, perfect for layering up for fall.

6. Gap City Flats - $39.50: I have a Groupon for the Gap (spend $50 get 50% off!) so I'm thinking I'll either get these comfy looking ballet flats...

7. Gap Perfect Boot Jeans - $69.50: ...or these jeans. All my jeans are starting to be just a touch too big! A few more pounds and it will be time to start replacing. Gap's jeans have been my favorite for awhile now, so they're my go-to when I need my butt to look good! ;]

There's also so much awesome inspiration for fall floating around on the internet right now. Perhaps the most exciting feature I've come across is Forever 21 and their blogger feature! They picked five awesome bloggers and had them each pick some of their favorite Forever 21 looks. They made some amazing choices, and they're all affordable! I'm partial to the looks chosen by Louise and Kelly Which one do you like the best?

I'm also loving Piperlime's recent campaigns. I like that they are encouraging people to stop thinking "comfortable" is only synonymous with "sweatpants" and "sneakers." A great pair of jeans and flats is just as comfortable but you'll look so much more put together and feel so much more put together. Plus, getting dressed is fun!

What's on your fall wishlist? Are you stocking up on basics or going for the big trends?

i want money! (that's what i want)

I love Marc Jacobs. If I was a rich lady I'd own a lot of Marc. Particularly handbags, but pretty much all of it. Here are some of my current OMG-I-die-like -Rachel-Zoe Marc Jacobs accessory items:

Modified Cat Eye Sunglasses - $98
I might have to move around some of my budget to allow for these babies. I love the black and teal ones. I think the shape would be really flattering, too.

"Flash Shapeshifter" Zip Trim Satchel - $478
This is what I would love to buy with my tax money this year. (Provided I get enough. Taxes suck man.) I love the color and the zipper details.

Mouse Ballet Flats - $230
Seriously, how cute are these? SO CUTE.

The Marc Jacobs stores also carry a bunch of awesome and affordable stuff. I highly recommend dropping into one and checking it out.
Floral Umbrella - $18
Charm Necklace - $16

Latin Bracelets - $7
[above images from marcjacobs.com]

I love those bracelets. I have two of them but I may need more. Because they look awesome layered with other bracelets.

I feel your pain Lucas.

fall wishlist - part 1

I know it's only just July, but I'm already thinking about fall clothes. The stores are already starting to carry "back to school" stuff, so I've fast-forwarded to crisp leaves and apple pie. And, of course, new clothes. :)

Since it is only July, I'm just gonna go ahead and call this part 1, since I'm sure more will follow.

Aldo Elfering - AE Leopard Flats - Madewell Lace Illusion - Madewell Skinny Ankle - Aldo McKew

The brogues were on sale when I was perusing the Aldo site looking for a pair to use as an example, so I went right ahead and bought them! And I got an extra 10% off for signing up for their email club. They actually should have arrived at my Mom's today so I am going by later to get them! I hope I like them. Look how cute the brogues look with the ankle skinnies!

Speaking of the skinnies, I need a new pair of black ones, hence their appearance on this list. My cheapie Forever 21 pair have seen better days. I've heard nothing but good things about Madewell jeans and they have an inseam I won't need to get hemmed, so I think they will be worth the splurge.

The boots, on the other hand, will not be mine. I do not love them $110. But I am counting on finding a similar pair somewhere on the cheap. I'm looking for a short pair of motorcycle-ish boots (under $50) so if anyone sees any good ones let me know!

The Madewell tee is gorgeous. I love it. My love justifies the $42 for a tee shirt thing. I feel it can be dressed up or down.

Leopard flats. Adorable. I've been coveting a pair for awhile, so I'm finally going for it. Plus, I have a coupon.

Anybody else already have a fall wish list started, or am I the only crazy?

madewell: online shopping, finally!

Gosh I'm so excited. Madewell FINALLY has online shopping. Will I purchase anything? Maybe. But I am cheap and poor. I really just love being able to look at everything and dream.

reward zone

So I am down six pounds! It might not seem like anything to write home about, and honestly I don't see a huge difference in the way I look or the way clothes fit, but I am just so proud of myself! I'm below the weight I have been stuck at for years and years. I've decided that when I reach various weight loss milestones I'm going to treat myself to something (not food!).

For the ten pound mark (only four more to go!) I'm going to get an hour-long massage. Ahhhh.

For the fifteen pound mark, I'm going to get myself some new work-out gear so I can feel cute while I'm racking up my steps. No more old baggy tees and sweatshirts!

For the twenty pound mark, I'm thinking a new bikini. I've never felt comfortable spending money on bathing suits, since I've never felt like they looked good on me. If I can get to the twenty pound weight loss mark, than I deserve a nice bikini!

I'm thinking one of these. I've had my eye on the bottom one for years, and the top one has SEQUINS. Naturally I will roll in the sand and have a photo shoot in whichever one I purchase.

If I reach my ultimate goal of losing twenty five pounds, I will have to come up with a really ultimate prize. I don't know what it will be yet. Any ideas?

i want this

Newest list of things I HAVE TO HAVE right now:

1. Denim Jacket from Old Navy: I have one that I bought there years ago, but it has no pockets! This one does, and I love me some pockets. I plan on taking my old one to the tailor to have the length and sleeves cropped to wear over sundresses.

2. Marc Jacobs Perfume Splash in Biscotti: I tried this at Sephora last week and I am obsessed. It's light and delicious and perfect for summer. Plus is comes in a HUGE bottle, thus justifying the price. I hate buying perfume, but this is one I wouldn't mind paying for.

3. Yoga Works Beginner's DVD: I always end up buying exercise DVDs then never using them. This was onDemand last month and I was obsessed with it. It's on sale right now so I will probably end up buying it because I did really love it. Then it will gather dust alongside Cardioke. Sigh.

4. T-Strap Sandal from American Eagle: I have no red sandals. This must be rectified. Plus I am feeling like I am "over" flip flops as a casual shoe. I now prefer my sandals securely strapped to my foot. Unless I am at the beach. In case anyone was wondering about my feeling on sandals.

Stay Tuned! Tomorrow is the first installment of "Things My Boyfriend Does." I hope it turns out as hilarious as these episodes are in real life.
