Friday Favorite: Old Navy Super Skinny Jeans

What?: Old Navy Super Skinny Jeans

How much?: $34.94

Why?: These are just the best skinny jeans out there, in my opinion. Granted, I'm not frolicking around in Citizens of Humanity or J Brand, so I can't speak for those high-end brands, but for the price you just can't beat these. The fit is incredible - stretchy enough to be super comfortable, but structured enough to keep you from looking like Queen of the Thunder Thighs. They also come in various lengths on Old Navy.com. The regular ones fit my short little legs perfectly, so I would say that they run on the short side. I could probably buy the short length for a cropped look and you lucky long legged ladies definitely want to buy the longer length. Seriously - give them a try.

Blogger Meet-Up & Easter

This is what I wore to the Boston Blogger meet-up last Wednesday. I just love going to those things. All the girls I meet are totally awesome and it's so fun to just essentially go out for a huge girl's night (I mean, guys go too, so, sorry for leaving you out guys). Plus we get a list of all the attendees and their blogs which keeps me entertained for hours. My plan tonight is to go through them all!

I'm pretty much obsessed with these pants. I love the way they fit, plus they are floral. Pastel floral. Something I never, ever thought I would wear and yet, here I am, loving every minute of it. Like Justin Bieber says, NEVER SAY NEVER.

I also wore this for Easter Sunday. It's a pretty Easter appropriate outfit, I think. And you know what? I wore it to work today, too. How do you like them apples? I've been too lazy to think up another outfit.

ALSO, I got these jeans at the Zara at the Northshore Mall last weekend, and then last week the store suddenly and mysteriously closed! No warning. No signs. Just gone. What does this mean?! I'm so depressed. I was just beginning what I hoped would be a long love affair with Zara.

I just discovered I have a fairly large backlog of outfit of the day photos I never posted. I'll have to try and get through them to make room for more spring-like posts!

It's just as well I have this backlog, since I haven't felt much like taking pictures lately. First I was focused on getting ready for vacation and now Boyfriend and I have started apartment hunting. Apartment hunting is the WORST. There is NO WHERE to live around here. Or if there is it's super expensive. We've only just started and already I'm super frustrated.

Well I'm actually in a pretty crummy mood today so I'm going to go get ready and head to yoga for some de-stressing!

So, these pictures don't quite do this justice, as by the time I took them it was after a long day at work, things were getting disheveled, and I was experimenting with a middle part that day (I don't think it's a good look for me). Regardless, I love this shirt. I had my eye on it for the longest time, but because it was so expensive I never bought it. Then I got a J.Crew gift card for Christmas and I knew exactly what I was going to get. I marched into J.Crew, grabbed this shirt, brought it to the register...and it was on sale! Like, almost half of on sale. Don't you love when that happens?

Hard to believe summer is actually over, but the crisp temperatures outside are definitely feeling like fall! I'm not complaining, fall is my second favorite season (after summer, of course). I just love cozy sweaters, snuggling up under blankets, quiet nights at home, and pumpkin spice everything. That being said...this outfit is decidedly summer-like. Which makes sense, because it is quite a few weeks old.

I do really like it though. I am so obsessed with those bright blue sandals. They're really tall, and really comfy, and really bright. I did have some trouble finding things they go with though. Maybe I'm just not thinking out of the box enough, because I keep trying to "match" them rather than "coordinate" them. Maybe I can squeeze in a few more wearings before it gets too cold...hmmm...

This afternoon I sat down and made a little schedule for myself. It's color coordinated and everything. I have blog posts scheduled, workouts, work things and personal things on there. Now all I have to do is stick to it! I'm hoping keeping track of everything I have to do/want to do will keep things from piling up too badly. Plus this should help keep my blog posting on a consistent schedule. Do you guys use schedules? Calendars? How do you keep track of the one million and one things we always seem to be doing?

where did i park my boat?

I feel like this outfit belongs on a yacht somewhere. Though I almost always aspire to look like I just stepped off a yacht in the summer. Or I aspire to look like I just rolled out of bed. Could go either way.

This outfit is actually really old. Like, sometime in May old. I've been hoarding pictures. And trying not to take new ones until I use up these. Then I plan on cutting back my outfit photos, because it's just getting a bit tedious for me. I'm not ditching the blog - just switching it up a bit.

I felt pretty good in this outfit. It was such a gorgeous spring day that I decided to take a bit of a mid-day break and walk to the coffee shop near work and treat myself. Then I sat on a bench by the river and just relaxed. It was such a treat to just do that in the middle of the day, instead of being trapped in my crappy little cubicle. I need to make more time like that this summer!

Plus, someone saw me out walking and said "Oh cute outfit!" and just made my day. ;)

The whistle necklace in the picture below (you know, the one I accidentally cropped almost completely out of the picture?) is from Forever 21. It cost $1.50, I believe. But it has proved invaluable. You know why? It's the only thing my scrappy little mutt will respond to. I brought it home and just gave it a toot to see if it worked, and next thing I know a little white puppy is sitting at my feet, looking up at me obediently. Mom and I ran back to Forever 21 and bought another one, because this is seriously the only thing that little punk will come to.

I really love these high waist jeans. I wish they were just a tiny bit shorter so they would hang a bit nicer, but I am also too lazy to hem them. Such is life. I actually have a ton of hemming/sewing that I have been meaning to do for way, way to long now. I really need to focus and get it done this weekend. It's *surprise!* supposed to be rainy again, so that will be perfect for holing up with my mending basket and some good tunes.

Sunday is Mother's Day. What is everyone doing with their moms? My mom and I were trying to think of something fun to do but we're coming up blank. I'm sure we'll figure it out. I just wish the weather would finally warm up so we can do more outdoor things!

Oh well, I'll be in Savannah soon enough! 24 more days! Is it too soon to start packing? I always get so excited for trips that I start packing way in advance. Can't hurt, right? I haven't even begun to think about this trip yet, which is so unlike me. I'll have to get my packing list started!

Screen shot 2010-08-22 at 8.15.52 PM

This is my first post in a new regular feature I am going to try out on here. I have a folder on my computer where I keep all the screen shots of outfit inspiration that I save. When I don't know what to wear, I open this folder and click through it for ideas. Sometimes they are from lookbooks, sometimes they are from other bloggers, and sometimes they are from Weardrobe or Chictopia.

This particular outfit was from the Madewell website ages ago. I came across this last weekend when I was trying to think of something to wear to run some errands and hang out with a friend. I was actually wearing different shoes, but my errands brought me to Macy's where they were having a shoe sale and I saw these bad boys. They went perfectly with the outfit so I put them right on my feet. They are super comfortable for such a high platform. I think I'll be wearing them a lot this spring, so be prepared to see more of them!

I think this is a great way to use what you have in your closet to create looks you love without breaking the bank. Is my outfit an exact replica of the Madewell one? No. But I think it's pretty close and I felt super snazzy in it, which is really all that matters.

So what do you think? Is this feature a keeper? Do you guys do this too? I'd love to hear your feedback!
